Cash for Clunkers - State Appliance Rebates

Are you considering purchasing a new appliance using the government rebates?

If you live in Minnesota, unfortunately the program has used all of it's available funding. Please see the state's website for more information. We would like to thank everyone who came in and purchased an appliance using these rebates.

If you live in Wisconsin, there is great news. As of this posting, there is still money available for you to upgrade to Energy Star approved appliances!

For the latest news, go to the Wisconsin website. Current information and rebate forms are available online. Here are some of the highlights.

Appliances eligible for Cash-Back Rewards
The following types of appliances are eligible for Cash-Back Rewards through the program. Appliances must meet program efficiency requirements.

Appliances

• Clothes washers - $100
  
• Dishwashers - $25
  
• Freezers - $50 & Refrigerators - $75
  
• Water heaters - $150 (gas) & $50 (electric)

If you missed out on the Minnesota rebate, stop in and see us. There are many manufacturer rebates available, plus rebates from local utility companies.

Get Ready for Spring!

It looks like summer may be coming early this year. Are you ready?

Now would be a good time to inspect and service your dehumidifier. Make sure your tray is cleaned or drain line is open and be sure to clean your filter and intake screen. Check your owner's manual for the servicing procedure for your make and model.

If you don't have a dehumidifier, you might want to consider purchasing on. They will help control moisture in a damp basement (moisture control is critical in fighting illness causing mold) and protect valuable furniture and antiques.

A young girl with a dream

It's a real honor to tell you about a young girl name Olivia. While most 10 year olds are caught up the things 10 year olds think about, Olivia is making a difference is people's lives.

Olivia, or Livvy as her friends call her, got the idea of helping people while on a trip with her mother and a stop at a laundromat. I'll let her tell you about it in her own words from her website, Livvy's Laundry.

"My name is Olivia,
but people call me Livvy.
I am ten years old. I live with my mom.

She, well, we together are big Oprah fans. We think Oprah is great.
I am inspired by her kindness.

I have always wanted to help out with something or help someone. I have finally found something I want to help with.

Well, just recently I went on a road trip. I had to go to a Laundry mat. I thought it was a little odd because I had not been in one for a while. I couldn't believe that the people did not have a washer and dryer at there houses.

When I was a little girl my mom and I had to go to the Laundry mat. Now I am lucky enuf to have a washer and dryer of my own.

I thought, well, maybe I could help a family?
So this is what I decided to do. I am going too start raising money to buy a washer and dryer for a family that needs it the most.
